Do you remember the old ‘Tunes’ advert? “Second class return to Nottingham please“. That was over thirty years ago and it still sticks. How’s that for a marketing campaign?
Last weekend I went to visit my daughter, who is studying at Nottingham University. It’s a two and a half hour drive from my home, on a good day, and I am not one for driving long distances. I decided it would be better to stay overnight to break up the drive and benefit from spending more time together. If you are looking for the best hotel in Nottingham, you can’t go wrong if you stay at the Hilton.
Hilton Hotels Room Rates and Deals
Hilton Hotels offer a great promotion called Leisure Escapes. For example, if your room is £50 a night room only, you would pay £92 a night for Leisure Escapes. Included in this is your wifi, breakfast and £50 to spend in the hotel. If you are a Hilton Honours member you get free wifi anyway, but in this case you would save £8 on the room and get free breakfast.
Before we checked in I had signed up to Hilton Honors via the app. The morning of my stay, I received a lovely welcoming text message which informed me I could use the digital check in.
Parking is charged at £13 (£15 for non hotel residents) for 24 hours if you park in the NCP across the road. You need to take your ticket to reception who will validate the £2 discount.
We booked a King Deluxe Room which was lovely. There was a delicious treat waiting for us when we arrived.
As well as the huge luxury bed, the king deluxe rooms are spacious and include complimentary bathrobes and slippers.

Once we had checked out the room, we headed downstairs to the Health Club.

Wearing my Choose Love Katharine Hamnet tee, which was a gift from my daughter. They are available at Asos in regular or plus size.
Feeling fully relaxed, we went back to our room and sipped on a crisp glass of chilled prosecco while we put on face masks and painted our nails.
Dining at the Hilton Hotel Nottingham
For dinner, we chose to stay at the hotel and use the £50 we had to spend for the Leisure Escapes offer. The on site restaurant, Bric, is an inviting place with rustic decor with a vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
The menu had a good selection of food. The bottomless brunch is served until 4pm and includes unlimited prosecco for 90 minutes!

The meal was delicious and the service was first class, but it was getting late so we headed off to bed.
In the morning we lazed in bed a little, and then went downstairs for breakfast, checking out the other hotel facilities on the way.
The Hilton Hotel Nottingham has a Regus express lounge and plenty of meeting and conference room options.
Breakfast was served in the Bric restaurant, which had been completely transformed from the night before.
I can’t describe the warmth and friendliness that the staff exude. There were plenty of food choices available including a porridge station and a chef on hand to cook made-to-order omelettes.
It is by far one of the best hotels in Nottingham City Centre, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
